How I Found My Passion for Solving Business Problems

Years before I became a Finance Technology leader, I started my career as a database programmer with a passion for learning new technologies and programming languages. Ironically, it wasn't until I left software development and moved into Finance Shared Services that my passion for technology truly accelerated.

Surrounded each day by executives, accountants, and analysts performing highly manual processes, I began to see endless opportunities to simplify, streamline, and automate the way work was being done. What started as solving small business problems quickly grew into enterprise-wide initiatives with global impact.

As I focused on helping people work more efficiently, my own passion grew right alongside the projects. Each new challenge introduced me to new technologies and expanded my perspective—from TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics and Enterprise Data Warehouses to Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, Workday, SAP, Oracle, and many more.

Over time, I realized that technology itself wasn't what motivated me.

Solving business problems was.

Technology simply became the tool that allowed me to turn complex challenges into practical, scalable solutions that help organizations make better decisions.

Today, whether I'm working with Finance leaders, architects, developers, analysts, or business stakeholders, my focus remains the same:

Turn complexity into clarity. Deliver solutions that matter.

On any given day, I can be found providing leadership and guidance across the areas below.

Looking back, I never set out to become a Finance Technology leader. I simply enjoyed solving problems.

Every new challenge introduced another technology, another business process, another opportunity to learn, and another chance to help people work smarter. Somewhere along the way, that passion became my career. And I still enjoy it just as much today.
